Objectives of Retire-Asia.com

The first main objective of the Retire Asia site is to provide an easy to follow guide showing the positive as well as some of the negative aspects of living in a foreign country, particularly an Asian one, with the different way of life, beliefs, customs and laws; in other words the cultural differences. Click on any Asian country for visitor information.

 

Where other sites provide general facts and sometimes masses of information, but often from an impersonal or detached perspective, Retire Asia tries to be a little different, in that it offers not only useful background information, but where possible reflects personal experiences and real life situations.

There are many popular places in South or Southeast Asia where foreign residents choose to settle for one reason or another. We go into some detail regarding Laos and Vientiane the capital of the Lao PDR. To a lesser degree Thailand's second city Chiangmai and the islands of Bali (Indonesia) and Singapore. Other locations include the Philippines and Malaysia.

A search in November 2010 for 'retire asia low income' listed us in #1 position from approaching two million results – no change from from when the site was launched in 2005, except that there were only about one million results back then! By March 2012 we had moved to #3, but the number of search results has risen to over 35 million!

Retire-Asia.com's second main objective is to make you aware of new opportunities for earning income, whether you live in South East Asia or not. With an internet connection it's possible to live and work virtually anywhere in the world. Along with hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs you can live in one country, earn income in different ones and have your earnings paid into bank accounts in other countries too.

Become a global citizen and international business person. Get some ideas from the pages listed in our menu on the left of our pages. Stock market trading, Forex and online marketing with a website or using Google Adwords are just a few. Bear in mind that information that teaches or helps you earn money has intrinsic value. It is rarely free. Why should it be? The secret is to pay the right price for such information – neither too much nor too little. There really is 'no free lunch'. Put good information to use and you will always recoup your initial outlay. From then on, you will be in profit, whether it's from investing in the forex or stock markets, or online selling.

Retire Asia aims to provide an ever-expanding source of current and useful information about destinations, as well as opportunities for those planning to reside in Asia, working or retired, and to earn extra income. One of the advantages of the technological era we find ourselves in, is of course the internet itself. Access to it is available almost everywhere now, and new ways of earning money while living abroad, abound. But beware of "wolves in sheep's clothing", and read our article on scams and rip-offs. Not everything is what it appears to be, especially on the world wide web.

Another possibly new career in several locations is teaching English to the local people, both young and old. There is a growing need in many developing countries to learn English as a second language. The ability to read, write and speak English fluently, is a definite asset for all.
