Laos ISP 3G, 3.5/3.75G, 4G air card data cost – Plans from the four Lao mobile phone operators and one ISP are comparable in many respects. A monthly 1 or 3 GB plan costs the same from the four main mobile operators in Laos. There are daily, weekly, monthly and longer periods, with either fixed or unlimited data transfer for internet access by mobile phone, tablet or notebook computer with built-in modem or external device like a USB dongle/air card. There are introductory promotions such as free SIM and/or data or a microSD card included when buying an air card, hardware or SIM from a Lao internet provider.

Sometimes operators change or add data plans without announcement such as imposing limits on data transfers on 'unlimited' plans or by throttling bandwidth. March and April 2012 saw Lao data prices reduce with Unitel, LaoTel and Beeline competing for 3G market share but most new plans have data and/or bandwidth control. ETL is least attractive except in areas not covered by other operators. Some plans below are more for phone use; 'unlimited' data plans are cheaper now, but connections become very slow if daily or monthly limits are exceeded.
